Decatur High School will Drop Everything And Read (D.E.A.R.) at 9:45 am. (The last 20 minutes of 1st block.)
We will have magazines and paperbacks for last minute reading choices available in the hall outside the library on Friday morning. Of course, library books are always available for check out.

City Schools of Decatur Libraries will be celebrating NEA’s Read Across America with our 2nd Annual Read Across Decatur on Friday, March 2, 2007.
Each school library is planning special activities for the day. Please talk to your school librarian about the activities that he/she is planning for your school.

D.E.A.R. was a huge success at Decatur High School! Everyone in the school read uninterrupted for 30 minutes during First Block. We enjoyed the music of Vivaldi over the video distribution system while we read. Comments ranged from “When are we going to do that again?” to “I didn’t want to stop reading”.
