The library media specialists across the City Schools of Decatur are sponsoring a Read Across Decatur Day, which will kick off a month of emphasis on our wonderful libraries and our school system’s love of reading. Several activities are in the works, including posters, bookmarks, art contests, and other fun ideas.

We would like for the entire community of the City Schools of Decatur, including all staff, to Drop Everything and Read on March 2, which is Dr. Seuss’ birthday, for thirty minutes somewhere between the times of 9:20 and 10:00 am as suits your school’s schedule. We will ask all resource teachers (i.e. Spanish, Art, Music, PE) to have their books with them and to join the students in this DEAR time.

Watch for posters and announcements of activities throughout the month of March.
